About

21st Century Challenges is a programme of discussions and accompanying resources run by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG).

The 2015/16 programme focuses on seven of the biggest social, environmental and economic challenges facing the UK in the coming decades and recognises that geography is at the heart of many of these challenges and integral to tacking them.

Our discussion events which take place at the Society’s home in London and across the UK, aim to enhance our understanding of these issues by stimulating informed dialogue and knowledge exchange.

The 2007-2014 programme focused on a range of global and local challenges. Discover them here.
