Lord Adonis to speak at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG)

The Rt Hon. the Lord Adonis will speak at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) as part of the 21st Century Challenges panel discussion ‘London: too big succeed?’ on Tuesday 15 September 2015 7.00pm – 8.30pm.
Reformer, writer and Labour peer, Andrew Adonis was a journalist at the Financial Times for five years (1991-96) before moving to the Observer as a political columnist. He then joined Tony Blair’s Number 10 policy staff in 1998, first as education adviser then, after 2001, as Head of the Policy Unit.
He was Minister for Schools from May 2005 until October 2008, Minister of State for Transport from October 2008 until June 2009, and Secretary of State for Transport from June 2009 until May 2010.
He was one of Labour’s negotiating team with the Liberal Democrats in the post-election hung parliament negotiations. He currently sits on the front bench in the House of Lords as the Shadow Infrastructure Minister and has joined the board of HS2.
He is the author of several books including ‘5 Days in May: The Coalition and Beyond‘ (2013).
